Happy 4th of July! Or Happy Independence Day! It was on July 4th, 1776 that America signed the Declaration of Independence, and our thirteen colonies became a nation – The United States of America. And though this day marks an extremely important day for our country, it is often celebrated in the most casual fashion- whether that be going to the beach or grilling on the bbq. We thought what better way to celebrate here at The Creative Pack, then share some 4th of July food facts we found on the web! (Heavy and Fox)

74 million Americans reported attending a barbecue last 4th of July.

Over 750 million pounds of chicken were consumed,

While, over 150 million hot dogs were eaten (Does anyone watch Nathan’s Annual Hot Dog eating contest? Or does it get a little too hard to watch someone eat 50+ hot dogs?) That is just enough hot dogs to stretch from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles more than five times!!! (Crazy!)

What is the most popular toppings to put on a hot dog? According to Zagat, it’s the combination of Ketchup and Mustard.

Annually, Americans consume over 6.7 billion gallons of beer, however over the 4th, 23 million cases are sold! This one day accounts for 5{711affa2c6bb84f98c0ea8259eb1dff497f250c63645d937340474115af0a357} of the national beer consumption!

All this food talk is making us hungry! What are you looking forward to eating today?
