The Creative Pack is growing! We are happy to introduce Fern, our new senior project manager. He came on in the spring but with all the jobs, summer events and busy-ness we are just now giving him a shout out! He has already become such an asset to our team as he has brought a fun personality, lots of experience and ideas. We conducted a mini interview for you to get to know him a little better!

1. What is your background in design/project management?

My career has covered a wide range of project and production management.   It started working at one of LA’s premier photo labs and managing projects for architecture, fashion, music and entertainment photographers, as well as fine artist.

Later on, I worked on huge entertainment marketing campaigns.  I was in charge of production for a wide range of projects.  I was in a Sales role for about 10yrs, and had the opportunity to work on campaigns for NARS Cosmetics, Jakks Pacific Toys, Hilton Hotels, The Waldorf Astoria, Vanity Fair, Verizon, Sears, and many films.

After running a creative agency that specialized in entertainment key art and I felt like I had finally come full circle and gained a full perspective of marketing production from it’s creative stages all the way through it’s final stages of tangible installation.

The food industry became appealing to me in 2012, and I’m glad I made the transition.  Having spent so many years working on diversified campaigns, and enduring the brutality of the entertainment studios marketing pace, I’ve found an exciting field for creativity and a very relevant medium in food packaging.

 2. What do you like best about your job?

The exciting part of my role at TCP is being surrounded by very creative designers, providing them exciting project briefs so they can be as creative as they want to be. Part of that has been simplifying workflows and adding a versatile project management software.  The other part is being able to share my knowledge of production with our designers so that every design we present has a viable ease in being produced.

 3. Give 3 words that best describe you

Driven, Determined and Ambitious or an Enthusiastically Pragmatic Idealist. LOL

 4. Goals for the future?

I’m constantly living in the future.  I’m doing things at TCP that are what the future of TCP will be, by adding new services for our clients.  Yes, we specialize in food packaging, but at the core we are a branding and marketing team with a ton of experience in food retail.

My goal is to be able to help broaden the scope of work we produce, open lines of strategic partnerships, and offer our clients an array of products, from packaging to retail signage, to digital and mobile solutions. My ambition and drive means potentially earning a partnership position, which is very appealing.

5. What do you do in your spare time?

I work at a busy farmers market on Sundays in Studio city, selling unique and innovative food products, such as sheep’s milk yogurts. I love to interact with the customers and enjoy the sales and marketing side.

I have a 10-year-old son, so goofing around with him is my priority; we are often out exploring cool parts of LA, playing Smash Bros, going to the movies or hanging at the beach. Oh yeah, this reminds me… I need to get back on the yoga mat!
